How it works: it is always free.

To set up your Artist Website on DaMuse for free, click here to email your headshot and resume to damuse team:

Here is what you will get:

  1. A web page that has your resume the way YOU want it.
  2. A web page that is guaranteed to load in less than a second.
  3. One picture in a good size that is perfect for sending around by email.
  4. Your resume as a link to a PDF file.
  5. The website URL is convenient and concise, and is suitable to be put on business cards.
  6. When you want to update, it is quite easy, just send along another copy of your normal resume. I will convert it to a PDF file and post it right away. Even better, send me a PDF, and I'll just upload it.
  7. You just need to send me one photograph, color or B/W, and your resume in DOC format, formatted how you like it.

FAQs

  • Why is a Fast Loading Web Page Important?

When someone wants to see your headshot they want to see it right now. No one wants to wait, and nearly all actor-oriented websites require logins, pop-ups, odd formats, and many other things. This annoys casting directors and agents. So, if they know that one web site always comes up fast without wierd pop-ups, annoying logins, excessive image content, that gives the correct contact data and in an easy-to-read format, they will use it.

  • Why just one photo?

To make the website load faster. We are establishing the industry standard of super-fast loading, and this is one of our keys.

  • How long will it take for you to make changes to my resume?

Once we receive your resume, and if we are not on vacation in some far-off land. It will usually be right away. The best part is that you won't be filling out endless forms and web pages cutting and pasting and hoping it all works out. And you can print out your resume and staple it to your headshot in a pinch. So you have a pic and a resume whereever you are right on the web, in normal standard format.

  • OK, this is all cool and so forth. Why shouldn't I just steal your format and make my own web page with your method?

That is a good question. You benefit from having our URL in your address. Casting directors and others have learned that web addresses coming from this site are fast to print and fast to load. Anywhere else does not have that trust. So you are really latching onto the trust of speed, reliability and predictability.

  • So how do I use this webpage instead of that one that Backstage uses?

Now to the heart of the matter. If you have a Backstage login, under their "Resume Builder" tool, there is a tab for "Details". At the bottom of this tab is a text fill-in box entitled "Additonal Comments". Copy and paste the following HTML code in there. You will need to Replace Kevin's URL with yours.

This is how Donna did hers, and here is her resume website so you can see: http://casting.backstage.com/Resumes/?actor=DONNA-LA

  • Do I have to be an actor?

Nope. Dancers, mimes, clowns, musicians, bands, theater companies, fine artists, and so on. If you are an artist, you can jump on board. Just one picture and a PDF.

  • Free? Really?

    Yes.

  • Always Free? Really?

    Yes.

  • C'mon. Free? No kidding?

    No kidding at all.
